Lauri Brockmiller

Lauri has dedicated her educational and working career to the health and fitness industry. She earned her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Michigan State University and her B.S. in Health Fitness from Central Michigan University. Lauri has been successful helping people of all ages and physical capabilities become more fit. She views each client as a unique individual and so, too, are the training programs she designs.

"The idea for Brockmiller Elite Endurance (B.E.E.) was born out of my own desire to become a better cyclist," she said. "It did not take more than a few rides with some of the local female cyclists before I realized that I was not going to be able to keep up if I did not take my fitness up a notch."

From there, Lauri started researching. She experimented with her own training program to learn about what worked and what did not. She got better, but it wasn't enough. She hired a professional coach to deepen her understanding of periodization plans and training format progressions.

During this research, she decided she wanted Traverse City to have a place for cyclists to share ideas about training and work hard together and have some fun while getting super fit.

"At B.E.E., I have 8 bikes, over 45 athletes in the program, and classes are full with quite a few waiting to get in," Lauri said. "I could not ask for more."

In addition to Brockmiller Elite Endurance, Lauri manages her own flourishing personal training business at Rock Bottom Gym. Lauri recently attended a Power Based Training Clinic with Hunter Allen and added Level 2 Certified USA Cycling Coach to her long list of credentials.

Lauri is as accomplished in competition as she is professionally. She ran several marathons and competed in triathlons, and duathlons throughout the country. Upon arriving in Traverse City, she traded in her running shoes for cycling shoes and a road bike. She soon earned a spot on the competitive Hagerty Cycling Team. Lauri is a Category 2 road cyclist and focuses on road and criterium racing. She also enjoys mountain biking and won her age-group at the Iceman in 2010, 2011 and 2014.
